ARGENTINA:
Transforming Public Opinion in a Charged Environment
Argentina President Mauricio Macri at Bahía Blanca LNG Terminal in 2018.
Challenge:
Excelerate had supplied Argentina with LNG since 2008 to meet winter energy demand. In 2018, President Macri publicly framed LNG imports as a policy failure, arguing the country should rely on its own shale reserves at Vaca Muerta instead — a politically charged stance that cost Excelerate its Bahía Blanca contract. But Vaca Muerta's infrastructure couldn't scale fast enough to meet demand, and by 2020, with a new administration in office and Bolivia's gas supply shrinking, Argentina faced a return to LNG imports. Before operations could resume in 2021, Excelerate needed to protect its reputation in a market where LNG had become a political hot button and reestablish the importance of importing LNG to meet demand spikes, a common practice even among energy-secure nations, including the US and UAE.
Solution:
I directed a reputation and media strategy, partnering with a PR agency in Buenos Aires to reach the audiences who helped shape energy policy: journalists, public officials, think tanks, and opinion leaders across the political spectrum. Working within a modest three-month budget, the campaign combined targeted news advertising, a presence at key industry events, and direct outreach to journalists to secure interviews and reinforce Excelerate's core messages. Through these efforts, we were able to effectively strengthen Excelerate's position in Argentina and correct any misperceptions about LNG.
THREE MONTH INTEGRATED COMMUNICATIONS CAMPAIGN
EARNED MEDIAResults:
When Bahía Blanca operations resumed in May 2021, coverage was neutral to positive, a direct reversal from the politicized narrative three years earlier. Excelerate's VP of Latin America became a sought-after voice on LNG policy, giving 30+ media interviews and industry talks, and the company emerged with a stronger public profile among the government and industry stakeholders shaping Argentina's energy future.

BANGLADESH
Growing Market Share through Thought Leadership
The Honorable Energy Advisor to the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Dr. Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury
Challenge:
Excelerate had developed both of Bangladesh's LNG terminals, driving a 30% increase in the country's gas supply and restoring peak production at power plants, fertilizer factories, and industrial users. But sustaining Bangladesh's economic growth would require further LNG expansion, and with new competitors entering the market, Excelerate needed to cement its position as the region's trusted, established LNG partner before that window closed.
Solution:
I worked with Excelerate's commercial team to develop and lead the Bangla LNG Workshop 2019, the country's first conference of its kind, to bring together government and energy leaders who would shape the market's next phase. Because LNG was still a new and unfamiliar industry in Bangladesh, we brought in respected voices to give attendees a credible, comprehensive view of the commercial and technical landscape, with Excelerate positioned at the center of that conversation. I kept the guest list exclusive to key government and industry decision-makers and managed the event end-to-end — site selection, invitations, program content, and on-site execution — partnering with a Dhaka-based agency on production and media coverage.

Results:
The one-day event brought together over 120 industry leaders from the public and private sectors, and featured keynote speeches from distinguished guests, including the Honorable Energy Advisor to the Prime Minister, Dr. Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, and the Deputy Chief of Mission JoAnne Wagner of the United States Embassy Dhaka. Other notable attendees included HE Ambassador Ahmed Mohammed Nasser Al-Dehaimi of the State of Qatar and the HE Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Hu Kang-ild. As a result of this successful event, Excelerate has further strengthened its position as a leader in the industry in Bangladesh. The company is also making progress in developing a third terminal in the country.
EXHIBITIONS & TRADESHOWS:
You have one chance to make a first impression (that lasts).
Trade Shows & Exhibitions:
In a B2B industry like LNG, most companies only exist online. Trade shows and corporate events are the rare moments a company gets to be seen and felt in person, and in a niche market with a small, tightly connected customer base, that in-person trust is often what turns a relationship into a deal. I treated Excelerate's event presence as a core part of its growth strategy. An integral part of building brand recognition and credibility with the small set of decision-makers who moved the industry forward.
I led end-to-end strategic planning and execution for Excelerate's domestic and international events and trade shows. That meant setting creative direction and messaging for each booth, ensuring design and materials met local regulations for seamless installation, and orchestrating the full experience around it — from cocktail receptions to hotel logistics — so every touchpoint reinforced the same brand story and gave the sales team real openings to close business.
